The Fine Print
Payment Details

A deposit is necessary to set the date on our calendar and to lock in a price. Cash, check and Paypal are accepted. Credit cards can be run through PayPal, too!

Be aware that we are free to change pricing and sign with another party without your signature and a deposit. It is a very simple, and straightforward two page contract promising what we'll do for you, and what we expect from you over the next few weeks, or months. We are willing (if you need this option) to total up your package, albums, and travel and divide by as many as nine monthly payments with no finance charge. We know every single vendor wants one of your ribs to sign with them. We'll work with you in that way if you need us to.

We must be paid in full one month prior to the event (or no later than nine months after the signing of the contract if your event is further off).

If you are able to pay in full at the time of booking, we will deduct 10% from your total price!

Engagement and Bridal (or "Groomal") Portraits

The engagement portrait is for the newspaper, as well as your church bulletin! It's the one that goes in next to your announcement. Locally this announcement needs to appear no later than six weeks prior to your ceremony. This portrait is many times either enlarged, and displayed at your reception hall, or the entire session can be made into a guestbook.  Need save-the-date cards?  These are the images generally used. 

The bridal portrait is just what it sounds like - a portrait of the bride in her gown, with or without flowers. The old tradition of her portrait by the wedding cake is back (in fact, many couples put their portrait, mom and dad's portraits from both sides, or just all three bridal portraits inside the reception venue). If you don't want this, your mother may! It's wonderful to have the time to be photographed in your gown on a day when you aren't being asked thousands of questions that only you can answer, and being tugged in every concievable direction the way you are on the day of your wedding.

Don't want one or either of these particular portraits? Let's do others. As long as they involve you, there are complimentary sittings available to you prior to your wedding with the all inclusive packages. Let's use them to get to know one another, and become more comfortable with each other before the big stress-filled day! If you don't use them, you lose them.

The Rehearsal

If we are covering your wedding, part of that process (and package) is attending the rehearsal. That gives us the chance to thoroughly tour the building/venue, break the ice with your families, friends, and clergy person, and get the best possible idea of what the event will be like and how your plan will unfold. We consider this vital, and we do it for every single wedding we shoot. We're there to rehearse, too! You wouldn't believe the difference this makes in your images!

If you're paying for us to travel from out of town (see the travel section), we're there for the night anyway - if you'd like us to shoot your rehearsal dinner, we will do that at no additional charge, just feed us!

Travel

We travel globally! If you are 60 miles or more from our home base per Mapquest.com (Antwerp, Ohio, Zip Code 45813), we have some requirements.  Let us know where we need to be, and we'll give you straight-forward answers.  Confused? Just ask!

Print/Product Credits

Print credit is like cash, you use it to order prints and products after the event.  The print prices provided for you at signing will not change, even if prices increase prior to your day.  They are used through private ordering between you and the photographer, NOT through the site. Print credits must be used or they are lost within 3 months of the final upload of the event. For the first thirty days of the upload, all prints and products are 50% off with a personal code we'll provide that you can share with whomever you choose.!  

The Proofs

We shoot hundreds and hundreds of images when working separately, so as you can imagine, when we are working together we shoot thousands! Anything viable, you will get to keep. If it's well lit, in focus, and no one is blinking or waving a hand it is yours. All inclusive packages include a custom designed book, along with an upload to a personal area for you to view and shop from for nine months! With the high-resolution CD, please know that we will include a print permission letter. You can get these images printed at any commercial photo printer, or any other photo lab from this disc. Print permission means that we maintain the right to use your photos on our website, or any other advertising. Anything used for Facebook, MySpace, etc MUST be watermarked by the photographer, and MUST provide a link back to the main website.   This is NOT a big deal to do for you, it takes a few minutes, and protects our work from claims by others, people who try to pirate and print, etc.  It is NOT negotiable, and violators will be prosecuted.

The CD you get of your engagement and bridal portraits will BE thumbnails,
unless described in writing otherwise. 

The images we give you are touched by the magic wand of graphic artistry, which is very labor intensive and takes weeks to get the way we like them. (You won't hear that everywhere, so watch out.  Many photographers will give you a CD of proofs, but they may be thumbnails, not fit for printing even a 4x6, and they may be UN-EDITED.  NOT what you're hoping for AT ALL!  Be aware of what you are being promised!)    Some of our images are modified dramatically in various ways, some are left simply great the way they are, and just color corrected. The printing, should you opt to do that yourself, is very labor intensive too, as you are dealing with many images and lots and lots of numbers. If you'd like, we can deal with all the reprints and enlargements for you! With the order of an album, every single thing regarding that album is taken care of by us!  You just tell us your favorite images and we'll take it from there!

Hair and Make-Up

Would you like hair and make-up people to come right to the house or hotel room the day of your wedding?  We work with many talented, licensed artists who excel at special occasion hair and make-up, along with nails.  Inquire with us about prices and availability.  These are women we have worked with many times, and people who have never let us down in any way. These appointments must be arranged well ahead of your wedding day.

Master of Textiles

Need a seamtress?  Thinking about a gown made from scratch just for you?  What about a gift for your bridesmaids with custom embroidery, or a monogram?  Just ask to be provided with the name and number of someone we have worked with many times, and for whom we have the utmost respect and admiration.

Referrals

Refer anyone to us who books our services for a wedding, and receive a $250.00 print credit!  For a portrait, we'll issue you a $100.00 print credit.   Make sure they tell us you referred them during their first contact with us.  There is no limit to the number of referral credits you can develop!  This credit will be issued for new referrals you may still be sending us up to a year after your event
